Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Banks suck. I'm getting closer and closer to keeping it in the mattress, for real.

Seriously, check your area to see if there's a credit union you can join. At a CU, you're a stockholder, and they pay you dividends. Unlike a bank, where you're basically a mark.

In other news, have a heartwarming dog story and try not to tear up, I dare you. (Spoiler alert: happy ending.)

Oh god, that is the most amazing thing ever.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I've been in this apartment for several years with no ants. Why now? Damn twitter.

I am happy to give lesson on speaking Canadian and the offside rule. (It's the only hockey rule I know!)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Much as I like my CU, I've been holding on to my old checking account at PNC, partly because I have a credit card attached to it, and partly because PayPal draws from it and I was reluctant to hook the PayPal vampire to the main repository of my money. But I forgot to move one of my accounts away from that bank, and they drew their monthly charge and PNC paid it, as they're supposed to do, but the account went into the red and I didn't realize it. Then I discovered that PNC was charging me $7 a day every day I didn't have money in the account. Not overdraft fees - nothing else was coming in - it's a NO MONEY fee. They were charging me $$ because I didn't have any $$. How does that make any sense? I can see charging a fee for an overdraft, or pulling money from a backup source if the account is in the red (as they did) and charging for that service. But charging a fee for an account to sit at ZERO? Thus pushing it into the red every day? How does that make human sense? So I was so pissed off about that, it pushed me to finally close the checking account, and the credit account associated with it. See there, PNC? If you hadn't acted like a dick, you would have probably kept my business.

For "niche" we say "neesh" not "nitch." And foyer is "foi-yay" not "foi-yer."

Because books.

I say "neesh". But I also say "foi-yer".

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

There's something on Craigslist that I want. I could find the money for it, but I don't have the space. Even if I had less stuff, I wouldn't have the space; my rooms have too many windows and closets (not really a complaint) and not enough free floor space. I think modern houses are designed for IKEA furniture, and the houses I'm used to are designed for wardrobes and huge tables and solid-wood furniture.

edited to make the writing English more good

Wait, am I secretly Canadian? That's how I pronounce foyer and niche!

Zen, I have heard that about some banks. Suckage.

Your twitter brings all the ants to the yard?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Beau and I are going to start packing on Friday.

He said, "What about The Avengers?" And I said, "oh, we are going to see the movie too that day."

He said, "it is symbolical!"

I replied, "of what? Which of the Avengers would help us pack? Not hulk, right? He'd be a great mover, but probably not a great packer."

Which of the avengers would be a great packer, I wonder?
