The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am planning on it!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Of course many forms of preferential voting, especially PR, would make partisan redistricting less effective.

Trust my rage

I find it interesting that a state gets its EC total by adding its representatives plus senators this evolving how it gives small states a greater proportional representation. (Although there are three extra and I can't remember where they come from? I'm sure someone does...)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Zen, I fly out of Dulles all the time, and it's not super-complicated. You do have to allow a lot of time though, as the terminals are a ways from the main building.

Thank you, Raq! That's the main thing I needed to know, though I didn't realize it - it means a lot of walking, which means I don't take a heavy or bulky carry-on, which means I check a larger suitcase.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

District of Columbia. They have no Congressional representation, but are treated as a single-electorate state for EC purposes.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Which is one place where California is ahead of the curve. We approved the appointment of a non-partisan Redistricting committee, and their work was IIRC reviewed by the State Supreme Court, and yesterday the electorate approved the redistricting. No more gerrymandering!

I heard on NPR today that the Democrats now have a supermajority in both houses of the state Congress. That seems unbelievable to me. I do wonder what will happen with that.

ETA: Does the state have two houses of Congress? Now that seems wrong to me. Egad, look at me and my ignorance of CA Congress.

They'll finally be able to pass a budget?
