Dan Savage:
Obama endorses marriage equality, Dems endorse it in platform, and Obama wins the White House. Let this be the end of the gay wedge issue.
Fuck yeah!

OK, asking the hiveminfd because you are faster than Google: Did Minnesota NOT approve marriage equality? I thought they voted yes, or is it still being counted?
And does anyone have a link to voter turnout, especially by gender and ethnicity?
(I have given myself 20 more minutes on waking up and political follow-up before I get my ass to work.)
Another thing I'm hearing: did Puerto Rico vote in favour of statehood?
Yes. It's a referendum that would still have to be approved by Congress, which I'm not a whole lot more confident about than Congress's will to, say, let DC be a real boy state.

They rejected an anti-marriage amendment like the one that NC (ptui!) approved this year. Doesn't change the fact that there's still an anti-equality law, but at least they didn't get the amendment version through.
Strix,
MN had to vote no to vote yes so marriage equality is 4-0 this election.
OK, thanks, amych, le nub. Knew I could count on the b.org!
All the time I have spent on elections this yr need to count for something.
My co-worker's comment this morning: "In an update on Reagan, it's now 4:20 in America."
We elected the Dems for president and Senate, but our state legislature flipped back to Republican control. Not looking forward to another 2 years of Walker cramming through his agenda.
Especially not as someone under the Wisconsin Retirement System. My pay is no longer limited by the state as UW-Madison employees are no longer part of the state system, but we still contribute to the WRS, for now. I am still scared shitless I'll have no retirement other than social security under Republican control here in WI.
And on FB, one of my old Navy buddies is all, waaah, Obama is going to take away our military benefits. I was like, if he hasn't done it yet, and he's actually increased military benefits since he took office, I don't think you have a damn thing to worry about. Then linked him to a list of everything Obama had passed that was pro-veteran/military.
