Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It doesn't surprise me but I hope more people have power soon. Power companies have some flaws but getting people their electricity back after an outage tends to be number one on their list and they are amazing in their efficiency in the midst of troubles.

Yeah. They're usually pretty good, but with the huge number of people with power out, it's taking a while. They've got estimates of when each town will be back, but they're already behind that schedule.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's awesome. Bust it out, OWS.

Man, I finally finalized my candidate and proposition votes. That took way more effort than should have been necessary. This is how voter disenfranchisement happens, people! Make info easier to find!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Open or sealed?

Sealed packets that were in my desk drawer at work for a couple or three years. I'm sure it's just stale.

I'm looking at the website of the Republican candidate for governor, and he has nothing at all about social issues. This seems suspicious.

Dana, are you voting in our state? He's an anti-choice sued-obamacare asshole. Don't vote for him.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Still Tasty says if it's sealed it should keep indefinitely, fwtw. It would just take some pinprick holes to let it go stale, though. Paperclips or getting caught on the edge of the drawer, etc.

I know the sugar-free part of diet soda can go bad--I've drunk it (or rather, tried to and went ew)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

He's an anti-choice sued-obamacare asshole. Don't vote for him.

I figured. But the Seattle paper endorsed him. But yeah, once you find out that he used to say he was pro-choice, and then walked it back...it's usually a sign.

I cast my usual vote to try and kick our asshole state rep out of office. Sadly, it won't work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

so i am sitting in my office late and apparently I didn't move much for awhile because the automatic light shut off on me

Don't assume feature when it could be racial indifference!

Well, if I die of hot chocolate poisoning I'll regret not early voting.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone have a good experience with the CI "foolproof" vodka crust recipe? Mine came out more like a batter than a dough, and the resulting crust was...weird. Not remotely buttery or flakey enough, basically no substance to it at all.

(The pie was still pretty damn good even with the freak crust, but I'm just wondering how I managed to break a recipe with "foolproof" right there in the title.)
