I think I'm more concerned about the teenage angst parts than scary. She could probably handle MOTW episodes, but the Angel arc seems more for 12-up, I think. I think she is kind of sheltered compared to some of her peers (who happily tell me they went to see Hunger Games last summer.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's what I meant about emotional intensity, flea. I'd pick and choose episodes if it were me.

Because books.

That's what I was going to say, flea. The scary parts probably won't be too scary, but when you get to the Angel/Buffy stuff, that metaphor is going to be tricky to explain well to a nine-year-old.

I've let Sara watch some, but just hand-picked episodes, like Hush or Fear, Itself, with me.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

What they said: I think most of Season 1 would be OK, but much of S2-7 is gonna depend on the individual kid. Me, I was reading really adult material and would have be fine at 9, but I was a mutant.

Hello, good morning, have a fun trip, sarameg!

And Liese, I think that's an awesome thing to do. Appropriate and shameful it got buried and almost no press.

I tried to get my then-17-yo niece into Buffy. She was too scared to watch more than a couple of S1 episodes! Sheesh.

Apparently some women are interested in not shaving for November. Men are displeased.

Huh. Contrary to what I was told at work, there is at least a fundraising aspect to Movember. And of course there are college douchebags who don't like the idea of women with hairy legs. What a surprise.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I thought Movember was specifically about prostate cancer, rather than men's health generally. To me that's a lot less irksome.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mailed a gift to a friend, and bought a new printer.(Old one stopped working a while back)I think I've accomplished enough for today.
