Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

sarameg, how long will you be gone?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Youtube footage from the Coast Guard rescue of the Bounty crew, and a rescue from a rooftop in Staten Island.

Ooh, good one.

Save your material!

Ha! I have totally told people (including my mother) that very thing.

I have not packed nail glue. I can pick that up anywhere before we leave Cairns. After that, it gets a little iffy.

Camera and TWO charged batteries. Only one memory card, but again, that can be remedied

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Young@Heart, to be precise. And yes, because it is awesome. But there's a performance of that song that will not leave you. [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, go ahead, you can kill it now.

I ask, because I may or may not be in the area on Dec. 19th. There's an acquaintance of ours who is organizing a political event in DC: Native folks will be reading the appropriations bill where the apology to native america was buried, and non-Native folks will be reading the apology, hopefully in multiple languages.

I'll probably redact this, too. I think it's an amazing thing, and I really want to be a part of it, but oddly enough, I think I will have to do it as an individual, not part of my org, because while I'm pretty sure all my target demographic will be pleased, I'm equally sure that a percentage of my donors wouldn't be.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to a benefit concert. Clam Chowder(the group, not the soup!) did a great concert where the proceeds went to a local fan who has cancer.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Memory cards for my camera! Added to my list. I am going to be drinking a lot the next week to make it to Nov 8 without a nervous breakdown. Nov 8 I leave for a blessed no-fucking-work nine-day vacation. Until then, there's Make All My Now-Impossible Deadlines Bugaloo, the ongoing tragedy of Sandy, the election, my constantly aching back, finding a new petsitter, and trying to find another pair of goddam jeans that fit. With the continuing Why Can't You Stick To A Diet Polka and Just Go To The Gym You Lazy Hoor Tango on a loop in my head. Damn, I need a drink already.

But I have four new pairs of lovely comfy shoes to wear, so that's good.

Leise, let me know. I'll be long back by then, but I might be off again to B'ham for the festivities.

I just deleted everything on the existing card. It's all downloaded, backed up and a lot on flickr. Saves time. But I still might buy another. 596 photo slots available, I'd been carrying 493!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Liese, keep me in the loop on that.

brenda, marked for later. Can't take it tonight.

Zen, stop. Especially the tango. You have shoes. That is a good start.
