Whatever code the Gawker network is using for their article pages isn't compatible with my browser, so fuck 'em. I mostly miss their version of natter anyway, and am getting by just fine without it.
Some of the bandages they'd put on my neck (what I thought were normal band aids) after getting IV access into the external jugular would tear my skin coming off and leave me with blisters that I then had to cover with some sort of bandaging because it was too raw to rist touching anything. Luckily that didn't recurse all the way to me not having any flesh left.
The amount of bandaging that goes on and off the portacath site regularly. Good lord. I am surprised it's not rawer.
Lights are on across the street! Maybe my side will have power sooner than expected.
Mum wants to pick me up and take me and the cats back to NH until NJ sorts itself out. She also needs help with yard work.
This is not one of those times. This is one of those times when I think we are so breath-takingly amazing.
Didn't some group do something similar with...maybe computer kiosks in India? Having a hard time working out where I saw/read that.
Fingers crossed you get power back soon, Juliebird.
One of my friends in NJ has been going nuts because, with the particular combination of downed trees and downed power lines in her neighborhood, they need the tree people and the power people to be there at the same time and coordinate things in order to get power back. She was watching out her window all morning as the tree guys came, waited around for a while, then left, then the power guys came, waited around for a while, then left, and then the tree guys came back, etc.
Yeah, I passed a crew right outside my apartment when I walked to the bus stop (not running) and apparently they were there for a couple hours scratching their heads before leaving.
But the grocery store had a genny, and I was able to score some cold sesame noodles at the Chinese place, so not a wasted trip.
Am I likely to find Christmas flights for less than $280 round trip? (I found American Airlines for $240 but I'm afraid to rely on them.) Should I go ahead and book?
Greetings from Drunkyville!
I stopped by the Voulez Vous lounge after dinner (maybe the best meal I've had all year, spinach-stuffed pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and french onion spup) and found a bartender that knows how to make sazerac cocktails with real absinhte. Buffistas would really love this place, it looks like something straight out of
Moulin Rogue
and serves really good drinks and they were playing disco tonight. [link]
Weirdly I seemed to be able to naviogate uneven curvy sidewalks down a mountain just fine but once I got up to my room everythings spinning. I'm gonna put off the jacuzi tub until tomorrow when I know I wqnt fall into it.

I don't think I saw that but I'd be totally interested if you run across it again.
