Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

On Monday, I was especially grateful for cable, remembering being stuck in the house all day (in no danger at all) with only STORM COVERAGE on TV.

Holy crap, Burrell.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Last night Jon Stewart said something about 'watching all your childhood memories be washed away.' I nearly choked up.

"Did you ever have one of those days where everything you loved as a child was under water?"

No one makes me laugh and cry like Jon Stewart. I think it's his super power.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Holy crap, Burrell.

I don't know if any of the victims or perps were students, but it's scary regardless. A lot of people walking around that campus both from the neighborhood and associated with the school, and they all feel quite safe. Less safe than we thought.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It's a small thing to be bothered about, but either my boss was wrong in giving me the budget for the gifts, or the budget I get to work with is less than half what annoying co-worker got to buy from last year. I call shenanigans.

I am somewhat ignoring him and giving him a gift idea list with things in 3 categories: $100 and less, $101 - $200, and over $200.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah that's terrifying.

hip deep in pie

My friend is stuck in Brooklyn for two more days since they were supposed to fly out of LGA. They went to the Daily Show taping last night, then had to walk home across the unlit Williamsburg Bridge. I guess this is a holiday they'll never forget.

They probably passed some of my co-workers - TDS tapes right down the street from us. West midtown is a massive clusterfuck because of the crane collapse on 57th/7th. (Two hours of my commute last night was driving 4 blocks through Columbus Circle.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Thanks Trudy! I think I'm getting a new tag line as soon as I can get to the board on a real computer.
