Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

We started out the day with classes going on as usual, but at about 12:30, they sent out a campus-wide message that all classes after 1:10 were canceled, and everyone except essential personnel were supposed to go home. My last class was 12:20-1:10, so I finished up that one, then came home, stopping at the grocery store on the way. It's raining pretty hard, and they're predicting a lot of flooding. I saw a few roads with an inch or two of water, but nothing major yet. But, we're supposed to have several more hours of steady rain. They're also saying that we'll probably lose power.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Wow.

The grocery store here had batteries, but no flashlights. I know I have flashlights, because I used them a few months ago when there was a power outage, but I can't find them anywhere. I bought a book light, which was the only sort of battery-operated light that the supermarket had left, and I've got a flashlight app on my phone.

Because books.

Wow.

That's scary.

The wind has picked up here, but our power was restored a few hours ago so we've been brewing tea and making pumpkin bread and getting ready for it to crap out again.

OK, everyone is leaving work now, I guess I should go, too.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's not often my sister (in MI) and I (in NC) share the same weather system at the same time. We're both on the edges, luckily.
