I don't at this point but I might be able to put feelers out through my WP people.
I am really pleased that the IEP wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was pretty convinced we would have to go through Due Process and get an attorney/advocate. We still might if we move, but we may not.
The teacher asked us what we really wanted and I said for an interdistrict transfer to Burbank where she could attend a blended ASL/SEE/English class. Not going to happen.
They are also changing her eligibility to reflect that she is low-incidence Other Impairment other than Multiple Disability which implies cognitive deficiencies. This part matters a ton because it opens up a sign interpreter as possible.
Whew.
Also, I donated blood today and am now a bit tired. I didn't get a pedicure (which I really wanted). Nor did I get to return stuff to Target.
BUT my new nano came. Did you all know if you have a first Gen Apple Nano, there was a recall and you can send it and get a new one back? Even if your battery is wonky and doesn't hold a charge.
Hi all, just sticking my head in for a second to say thank you all for the good wishes! We're thrilled and exhausted and more than a little loopy. I had to have a c-section so we're still in the hospital for another night, and very much looking forward to going home tomorrow. It still seems really unreal. We have a daughter! Holy crap.

Kate, I'm glad you'll get to head home soon. Having a daughter is pretty exciting; we like it a lot!
Work has left me so mentally exhausted this week. We closed out my last meeting today with one coworker face-down on the conference room table and me plaintively saying, "My brain hurts."
People want me to be social this weekend, but at this point I want to stay at home in my pajamas and watch Invader Zim.
Who's Pat Kiernan?
Beloved local NYC news anchor. He has a cameo in the Avengers, which I posted about... He wrote back!

This is true! One of the best things I've ever done, along with having a son that is.

AAAAAAA!!!! CAN I TOUCH YOU???
I mean, right? I can't even respond.
Also, I'm having some fun arguing with someone in blog comments who seems to think that, if he puts an argument in the form of a "mathematical proof," then everybody will just nod and say, "Oh, yes, numbers, so he must be right," when in fact, his argument makes no sense whatsoever.
I'm not going to pretend I haven't done this to Jilli. She makes a squinchy face. It's fun. Of course I also give her sips of gin-based cocktails for the same reason.
One of the people I interviewed with is having lunch with me to go over her impressions and what may have sunk me, what the good stuff was, etc.
If someone you are interviewed with is willing to go have a meal with you and go over your interview, that's a good thing, Allyson. But I am sorry you didn't get the jobs. Their loss. I mean, feel lousy because licking your wounds is a totally valid thing to do. But you do rock and we can remind you if you forget.
I did get a pedi today. A lot of today sucked and I am happier with deep dark shimmer blue toes topped with epic amounts of sparkles. I call it All of Time and Space. I have a Tardis on my toes.
