Natter 70: Hookers and Blow
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And I have to say, the last reason I would visit you would be for drunken noodles, but it would be a nice bonus!
I would love to come up, actually. I haven't been in NYC since last summer, and it feels like ages ago. Plus, I want to meet Dylan and Aeryn.
Now I want Thai food too, only I have a 3-meal-sized steelhead filet in my refrigerator that I really need to cook tonight (bought it as a manager's special, so its shelf life is pretty much over).
Do not speak to me of the Zillow. The problem with it is, it gives buyers an idea of what they think they should pay, that may or may not correspond to the reality of the market for that specific house. Also, they redid their algorithm within the last year, and retroactively applied it, and values dropped a lot back to 2007 or so.
Signed, been playing counteroffer tag all week, and still think it's pointless. (Although thank god we're not underwater; we'll lose money on the house all told, but we hope to get a good chunk of our down payment back.)
Now I also want Thai food. I'd been planning to go to the newly re-opened indie bookstore after work, and get dinner at the cafe there, but there is a Thai restaurant down the street from the bookstore, too. Hmm.
Also, I'm having some fun arguing with someone in blog comments who seems to think that, if he puts an argument in the form of a "mathematical proof," then everybody will just nod and say, "Oh, yes, numbers, so he must be right," when in fact, his argument makes no sense whatsoever. I'm not even saying that he's wrong, although he is wrong. It's that he's saying the equivalent of "blue is the same thing as yellow, therefore I'm right when I say that pink is darker than red." Only with a lot of equations in there.
I had Pad Thai for lunch today. AIWFG.
Zillow thinks I have one more bathroom than I do, and a fireplace, which I don't. Not sure if or how that affects anything. The value it has listed for my house is what I paid for it three years ago. If I put it on the market now, I think I'd get about $10k less.

Stop letting your guests pee in the closet and maybe Zillow will change its mind. ("Down the hall, third door on the right; here's your coffee can.")

Well, look, one bathroom is MINE and the other is for storage and the cats, so what else am I supposed to do?
Maybe I'll put a fireplace in the other closet. Since I'm supposed to have one anyway.

Then you can make people pee in the fire!
...probably just guys, though.

The foster cat has actually made it slightly awkward to have guests at my house now! Upstairs there's my bathroom (you have to walk into my room to get to it) and my roommate's (which is very full of her stuff), and then there's the downstairs one, which used to be the guest bathroom (half bath, not used much so easy to keep clean, etc). Only that's also where we put the litterbox, and the huge box of litter, and the food, and... So now I dont' want to make anyone use that room if they're here, but it feels awfully personal for them to use one of the other bathrooms.
