So today when I got to work I was walking through the loading dock and did a double take at a guy I was crossing paths with and thought to myself, "Is that Ed Norton?" Yes. Yes it was. Tomorrow we'll have RFK Jr. in the building, but I've met him before. Thursday we get Elizabeth Gore and Lilly Ledbetter.
Cupcakes that ended up getting made, for those curious:
chocolate cupcakes and pumpkin-rum-maple cupcakes with crystallized ginger chips
Both of those were then either filled with sweet potato mascarpone, and covered in a caramel-pecan glaze, OR covered in cream-cheese lime frosting.
A little worried that the filled ones didn't really get filled--roommate was doing most of that part, and I don't think she quite got it (she mostly volunteered to wash dishes while I baked, and also ruined the planned maple mascarpone filling. Oops)
Cupcake competition party is tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. Either way, fridge is full of cupcakes, and we have lots of sprinkles in seasonal colors and shapes as well!

Well, the ginger chips were intended to go in the chocolate ones, but we totally forgot. So we figured what the hell, ginger is a spice that goes with pumpkin, so we tossed them in with those ones. Turned out pretty well!

Holy dinah! That sounds delicious. And I say that as a person who is pretty meh about pumpkin flavoured season.
