I love hearing about everyone's delicious dinners!
We had stir fry.
Tofu marinated in TJ's Island Soyaki. Red Bell pepper, mushrooms, pineapple.
Over rice.

Honeycrisp apple. With peanut butter. (Hey, I'm under the weather and it's the only thing that sounded good. Tim had a real dinner. Tortellini, I think.)
I also had pork tenderloin. Roasted a couple of weeks ago with five spice powder and, um, some kind of glaze I forget what, and reheated tonight on the stove with some spinach thrown over it to wilt. Yum. Liese's and 'Suela's recipes both sound hella good.
Y'all so totally failed at car repair commiseration in your pumpkin obsession. I HAVE A PUMPKIN. But she's not edible, just good for company in the bath.
Maple mascarpone filling, pecan cream cheese frosting
Holy yum! Maybe be very sparing with the frosting and don't make it very sweet? So it's more creamy and nutty than sweet?
I made this carrot cake yesterday:
& it was nerve wracking because I made it for my amazing cake baking friend, who is recuperating from surgery. It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world but it was dang tasty.
Tonight we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with a beer can turkey breast on the grill, buttermilk mashed potatoes, kale salad & apple crisp. Yum!!
I had a glass of tea for dinner.
mac had grilled chicken and rice cooked in TJ's red curry sauce. a new meal that is mac approved. yay.
Sorry, sorry, sarameg! Car repairs do suck.
We're in the new-to-us grace period of no repairs. I love that period, because cars come to us to die, so most of their (short, brutish) lifetimes are under various woeful repair states. But we just put the miles on so fast, there's just no way to avoid it. We're getting ready to roll the first 100,000 on our Pilot, which we got a year ago at like, 54,000.
I hate all of you people, especially the ones with Trader Joe's.
This, with a side of extra hate for those who can, like, eat without feeling like throwing up. I had Greek yogurt for breakfast, oatmeal with brown sugar for lunch, and mashed PO-TAY-TOES with sour cream and dill for dinner. Okay, not gross, but I am going to get tired of bland pretty damn fast. I have a package of peeps I haven't even opened! I didn't have coffee today! Nothing sounds good to me. ::pouts::
I hate it when my appetite is impacted. I didn't want to eat for like a week after I had food poisoning, and it just seems deeply unfair. That is not the way I was raised! I enjoy my food, and I enjoy wanting to eat.
smonster, head's up, I may not call you in the am. I may call in sick to work and just sleep.
