Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I babysat for a boy named Merrywether. He went by Merry. He was a III.

I went shooting today! My friend had posted asking if anyone wanted to go, and I was like "sure, why not?" figuring shooting a gun was on my "I should do this sometime in my life" list (not quite a bucket list, but...includes things like that, and like "Learn how to drive stick shift" and stuff).

Totally bizarre and not what I expected. Outdoors (also bizarre because it's OCTOBER in SEATTLE and it was HOT AND SUNNY WTF), in this old quarry. Nothing set up, it's in a state park and people just bring some lawnchairs and whatever guns or targets they want, and go crazy. I shot two of my friend's guns (a 38 and a 9 mil) and three of her coworkers had also come, so I got to shoot one of the coworkers' AK-47! Madness. (Seriously, dude, who the fuck needs an AK-47?!?!) It was all a bit odd to me, but entertaining! I'm even more amused that after I posted about it on FB, one of MY old coworkers (who is a teapartier, and got married at a drive-through wedding chapel in Vegas, on her motorcycle) 'liked" it. Heh.

I think in the future if I were going to do it again, I'd like to go to a more...uh...formal? setting. Y'know, so I could see if I was actually hitting anything other than the ground? But it was kinda fun this time, because it was so very very country (friend is from Arkansas).

I don't want to walk to work. But here I go. Sigh.

So it takes 30 minutes to walk to work (I didn't leave RIGHT after I posted, nor did I *just* get here.) Good to know.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Fun, meara.

How far is it, Sara?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Have the day off, but had a doctor's appointment at 8:30 this morning. Went to Target afterwards to get some more long-sleeved shirts, and shampoo. Now have the rest of the day to work with.

Google tells me my route was 1.6 miles.

Punishingly Intricate

sara, I have a bike you could borrow to commute on while you are carless. An old beatee mtn bike. Probably not ideal size but fine for a couple mile a day ride.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Nah, it's not bad and I can get rides home. Which I hopefully won't need, as they already had the car on the lift when I called at 8.
