Managed to lock myself out of my apartment today (I realized it seconds after I hit the street). Fortunately between the BBQ fest and Star Wars day at the library, I was not bored waiting for Mom to be free to drive my spare key over.
And I stand corrected, the vendors wised up from last year and have about 7 or 8 food trucks selling BBQ to the masses. So tonight I'm gonna sample from a couple of them and try a slice from teh just-opened pizzeria before going there for a full meal.
WHY DID I JUST CLOSE THE B.ORG WINDOW???
Anyway, again, how shiny is this? It almost looks like the apartment I moved into. Well, kitchen and bathroom, anyway. Bedroom's 3 or so loads of laundry away from presentable, and I really want to have the carpet cleaned, and the cuddle lounge while I'm at it.
I did end up tidying the living room so they could vacuum. The final price ended up being less than she quoted me for just two rooms, so I don't feel like she was trying to twist my arm to inflate the bill or anything--they were quick, effective, efficient, pleasant, and not intrusive. Would use again--but let me not get so far off the track, at least not any time soon.
There's no way I can keep the shower doors clean enough to walk into, but I gotta at least remember to spray down the doors when I'm done.
Anyone watch the new Partners? What is it like? Everything I've seen Krumholtz in since NUMB3RS started has been sufficiently different from the multi-speciality whiz kid that I wonder who he likes being more--Mr. Universe, the nutbag in Harold and Kumar, or an Eppes.
I still do not get Gangnam, but marching band? That seems to subtract anything I like from either component of the matchup. Not that I made it too far in, again. As above, do not get.

Horrible. Michael Urie's character is basically Jack McFarland with the actual vicious evil extracted but all the self-absorbed annoyingness left untouched. Krumholtz is OK, but not really playing a distinctive character. Routh is a block of wood, and Sophia Bush is a jeweler whose only personality trait is mispronouncing "jewelry."
I have the dojo kids by myself today. The eldest (4) had a total meltdown when mom dropped them off. I haven't had to deal with a kicking screaming child in a long time. He is now happily playing Legos. I've already sent mom a picture so she knows he is ok.
The oldest is 4? Is this childcare for members of the dojo, or an actual kids class? I know back when I was still in martial arts, our master instructor wouldn't accept students younger than 5. I can't imagine trying wrangle a group of kids 4 and younger.
Wow, that looks great, ita !! My kitchen...does not currently look like that. And I totally just finished straightening up in there, but my straightening up and other professional peoples' straightening up are different things, I suspect.
More laundry out on the line now. College football on in the other room. Leftover venison meatloaf for lunch. Feels like a perfect fall day.
What now? More housecleaning? Or knock out some work? I'm saving the "pretending I'm sorting receipts" for later tonight when I'm watching Ohio State.
Or I could go into town and take the recycling and pick up a few groceries and maybe the mail and see the SO?
Kalshane, I think it's childcare she's doing, that's what she's talked about before

Ooh, shiny! We always have to clean a lot ahead of the housekeeper (monthly) because we're slobs. But it makes us have a clean house once a month at least.
Was it here or in bitches someone asked about the silicone egg cups? They're for poaching eggs--basically just a little silicone dish, and you crack the egg into it, and put it in the boiling water and (importantly and I messed it up the first time) cover the pot with a lid. Voila, poached egg without the messiness! The first time I forgot the lid, and it didn't work--apparently it requires the steam from above to help it cook just right.

Once they get to the dance break it's pretty entertaining. Just playing the song, NSM.
Dang, the Blues singer at the stage next to my apartment is interrupting every song to hawk her CD. And played one song that was basically 15 minutes of repeating "tip my band." I'm surprised she didn't go out on stage with crutches, a head bandage, and a tin cup.
Kalshane, We sometimes watch our Sensei's two kids. We have babysat each since they were infants and they are now 4 and 20 months. I refer to them as the dojo kids for simplicity. K-Bug has provided child care at the dojo for the young children of other students. So it can get confusing.
Today I'm trying "cook once, eat all month" through onceamonthmom.com. I'm done with 12 recipes so far today and ahead of schedule! Back is killing me though.
