Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We hang-dry a lot of stuff and fold all the rest that day. Leaving laundry out just means it gets covered in cat and dog hair (and possible bonus cat vomit) before we get to wear it.

I would say we live in the same house, but I think I would have noticed if the awesome level jumped up dramatically, and it has not. So clearly we just live in doppelhouses.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Lizz Winstead, co-creator of Daily Show, launches Lady Parts Justice - Boing Boing

Look, it’s time to stop being polite and start asking, “What the fuck do you think you are trying to pull here?”

It is time to ask, “Why the fuck are men and women who are inexcusably incompetent continually being elected into statehouses, governorships and THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS? And how the fuck is it that this asshole serves on THE SCIENCE COMMITTEE of The House of Representatives?!

ENOUGH.

Women are not faking rape and they don’t have magical powers to deactivate rape sperm. We are not pregnant before we are pregnant, we can’t have an abortion if we are not pregnant, and I think we can all agree, women shouldn’t be forced to carry stillborn babies.

Abortions don’t cause mental instability and the HPV vaccine doesn’t make girls mentally retarded. No woman’s boss should be able to demand information from her to decide if her reason for wanting birth control is moral enough to grant permission.

OH Yeah, and Planned Parenthood isn’t turning Girl Scouts into Commulezzies
...

Today I am launching www.ladypartsjustice.com a place where we create messaging that dares to speak the language of truth, without giving a rat’s ass about how it will be judged by the self-righteous.

I hope that through the lens of humor we can expose how bad this War on Women has gotten and just what is at stake. I hope others will join me to drown out and put to pasture those politicians who abuse the privilege of serving their country with legislation that chips away, in every way, the options of a woman to achieve her potential.

Please join me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

3-4 loads of laundry a week.

Desperately craving egg custard, no idea why.

annoying co-worker is a negative energy sponge - that without even doing anything directly today is seeping good energy away from the building. I am not the only one who feels it either. A co-worker and I went to lunch today and both of us dread her seeing us leave or return because she is bothered by not being invited - to thepoint she will same something directly to you. she creates soo much tension.

Mmm, custard.

A long time ago we were talking about the -algia ending of nostalgia. I just heard on a TTBOOK from last month that nostalgia started out as a medical diagnosis for extreme homesickness that was thought to be likely to be fatal! Circa early 19th century.

10 Most Inexplicably Tiny Outfits in Science Fiction History

Am I weird to think Sting looks kinda' good here in his plastic speedo? The Humungus from The Road Warrior and Zed from Zardoz also are here. Plus some ladies and Spartans.

Yeah, Sting made an impression on me when I saw the movie. I was a huge Police fan at the time, but not yet admitting that I have same-sex attractions.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh yes, mmm, Dune Sting.

Feel better, Shrift!

Liese, these? And these were ALL I could find of this type.

Hah! More.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

No, the first style is the right one, but I'm pretty sure that's the same brand I bought, which seems to be a) splintery, b) weak, and c) prone to popping apart in alarming ways. I have a few really old clothespins from when I lived in the mission house, and they are smooth (probably from wear) and much sturdier, possibly made from harder woods. The spring is much smoother action, and never slips.
