I was once told that I should learn to talk baseball so that one day when I marry my husband and I would have something to talk about.
I grew up with a smug assuredness that I could talk baseball for hours with my future spouse/partner/houseboy. And then I ended up with a guy whose knowledge of baseball is that it's a sport.
Good thing he's pretty.
(On the plus side, I can totally make shit up about baseball's rules and convince him they're true. Well, that works about half the time. And then for some actual rules he doesn't believe me.)
(I have actually taught him why the designated hitter rule is a desecration. Or, at the very least, when anyone mentions it, he knows to decry it.)

I love that "houseboy" was a possibility you planned for.
I love baseball, but I tend to love MY team. The larger scope of a season and all the teams and stats is a little too much for me to bother about. Mostly I just love to watch a good game played by attractive men, I guess?
I have had good luck with Overstock, but it's hit or miss so it takes a few visits.
My last jewellery purchase from Overstock involved me sending back one earring, demanding a full refund, and getting it (I'd still rather have the earring--they were cute--don't seem to still be for sale though--nice spare, almost abstract representation).
I have never before had a French hook earring work itself out and somehow get so much air that I can't find where it went, even though I could feel it leave my ear. Also, the dragonfly pendants both came off the hook itself.
I'm a little grumpy at them, but pleased with the customer service.
Timelies all!
Luckily, both Gary and I are baseball fans. (Even if he jokes that we're in a mixed marriage- he's an Orioles fan and I'm a Yankees fan. We both cheer for the Nationals, though, so things are happy here. :))
Amazon's another spot for jewelry-- and maybe figuring out keywords.
And then for some actual rules he doesn't believe me.
The infield fly rule and the pitcher's balk?

Ahahaha, yes! Also, he thinks the consequences for HBP should be more than just taking first base. Like, the batter should get to punch the pitcher, so that they're both in pain.

I had no idea that the half-blood prince had anything to do with baseball. The game is clearly more complex than I realised.
I prefer baseball to football, because I can understand it better, but these rules are confusing to me. Still, probably less confusing than downs.
I don't know if anyone is watching The New Normal, but I decided to give it a try because one of the stars was on Terry Gross, and I liked him. Still not sure if I like it, but the little girl's Little Edie imitation is ADORABLE and spot-on.
