"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My son's homework tonight includes watching the debates. He's in second grade.

Isn't tonight's debate on a little late for second grade homework?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Isn't tonight's debate on a little late for second grade homework?

Not on the west coast, it's 6-7:30.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That makes sense, they're airing it live rather than waiting for prime time. They don't start until 9 on the east coast.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I was just trolling for Good Stuff, and noticed this at the bottom of an article:

This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

That...means they don't want me to tumbl it, huh? But I first saw the story on HuffPo, so what does that mean?? It's a nice story! [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Watching the debate. Oddly nervous. Have no alcohol.

Huh. Guess not--but does that include a link to it? Reproducing it in whole with a link? In part? I wonder.

I am super excited--my fave LA eatery at the moment (Lemonade) has opened in the Delta terminal at LAX. Which I can get to from the Alaska one! Healthy food for me!!!! (the Alaska terminal has a diner and a hot dog place, it's awful). If I'm running late, can't go there, but it's soooo much better than previous options.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I hate even hearing Romney's voice.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks, Zen. Der, brain fart.

don't get me started on the woman who gave me a lecture about how their department doesn't use the serial comma, when the stuff they had given me was riddled with them

I had a boss who told me, very patiently, how she "understood" why I'd "make the mistake" of using that extra comma, as she comforted me and asked me to delete them all from the document I'd written.

I'm sure all her employees loved her.

I just told my manager that the incompetent developer keeps picking fights with me. She's done so twice this week alone, and I had had it up to here. I didn't expect a solution, I just wanted to go on record as not liking to be told what my job is by an associate software developer. Because she clearly has no clue what it entails. And she deeply cares about things I do that don't affect her and her workload in the least, including the apparent feelings of other developers, who might be hurt by me running tests my boss asks for.

Hah.

Anyway, gonna buy some whisky and go

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

"Trickle-down government" is a pretty good line.

So all of a sudden Romney is not going to cut taxes on the wealthy?
