Natter 70: Hookers and Blow
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
So my brother got jumped by a bounty hunter yesterday.
In the same vein, a repo man once jimmied the lock on my car door.
(I had locked the keys in my car, and the first co-worker I mentioned it to just happened to be a repo guy in a former life. Anyway he had a tool that he used to reach inside the window and open the lock for me.)
When I was in high school, one of my fellow students came from a family with multiple family members doing time for a car theft ring. Whenever someone locked their keys in the car, the office would call Mike out of class, cause he had all the tools to jimmy locks.
Actually, the story gets even more fairy-tale unbelievable: Mike moved to NM in 5th grade. He was the only one who beat me at geography bee because he (a native Louisianan) left out syllables when calling out "Louisiana"

His dad went to prison a couple years later. A little auto body shop out in the county owned by an older guy had been unwittingly used to clear cars stolen by the gang. When the dad went to prison, this guy felt bad for the kid (he went into foster care, his mother went into the wind) and took him on as an errand boy and later apprentice. Last I heard (which was about 5 yrs out of hs) Mike was taking main responsibility for running the shop and buying out his mentor in installments. Kinda crazy. Such a small town thing.
Contemplating use of celebrities to frame a documentary on something so wrought. I mean, I get why, but I don't need Sarandon or Diane Lane or America Ferrara to forward the ...forward. But then, I sought out the documentary on the fistula clinic, so maybe I'm not the margin audience, I'm the given. But still, there's a taste in my mouth like glitter on shit.
Owen has been talking about Frankenweenie for at least six months. He's dying to see it.
In other news, we're having eye surgery for him tomorrow to correct his turned out eye. It's been turning out for a while now and he didn't respond to exercises or patching.
Tomorrow night is full of conflicty things. There is a meeting I have to attend at 7pm for the final silent auction that is on the 10th. I have TIVO set to record the debate. I hope to be home for Supernatural, but TIVO has that set also. Then there are the A's. If they win tonight and tomorrow they can take their division. At least I can peek at my phone for the score during the meeting.
Oh, and before all that fun, I have to go to CJ's school to talk with his ASL teacher. She has been out most of the semester so far and I want to know what the plan is to get the class back up to speed. They have had subs, but no one who is qualified to teach ASL.
I am just now watching Sunday's Good Wife.
I feel like they just
ruined Kalinda a little bit, with the sleeping with her ex,
and it makes me a little sad, and more than a little skeeved.
I feel like that was
mostly another tactic she was using against him,
but I'll need to see what happens next.
Why does that ruin her, Lee? What was she in regards to that side of her life that got compromised?
I guess it bothered me because
I didn't think it as a tactic, but something she did despite herself, which doesn't seem like Kalinda to me.
She has always used
sex to get what she wants, which I am more than fine with,
but this felt different and not Kalinda-like and wrong.
Hmm, I agree that she's always used
sex as a tactic.
This? Yeah, I don't know. I just don't see why, really: if
he was so bad that she fled Canada and changed her name to get away from him, why is she now willing to sleep with him? It's not like Kalinda to be in sexual thrall: she's the most controlled person in the entire show.
I also think that Peter needs to STFU when Alicia tells him to. And that Zach is going to get into serious trouble during the campaign, with the Youtubing and
the porn.
