Docs really don't worry too much about keeping toes functional. I have two toes that don't bend and that does have an effect on how I push off when walking.

His injury happened while he was working for the govt, and I think he was in a recovery facility in DC for those six months. But yeah. A year without a thumb, and then another six months not able to use one arm.
