we were an hour late leaving, but we are in OKC and logging at the hotel. ROADTRIP turned out to be a success and mac had fun. UM DUH!! SUper fun mom who sings with every song and car dances. I am the msbelliest.
Our hotel is a four points by sheraton - I like the look. Did the bed bug check and it passed. Should sleep soonish.
You are the msbelliest.
I fear that I have been discharged from the Emergency Department somewhat too soon.
Today at 2, I had some back pain, but I also had a 3:30 appointment at the imaging center to get my first mammogram.
By the time I get to the mammogram, I had been in enough pain in traffic at the trainlight that I had to gnaw on things to distract myself. I go in do the paperwork and realize I'm in too much pain to stay. I give them their paperwork back (completed) and say I have to go to the ER. So I leave my car and walk over to the conveniently adjacent ER at Huntington Hospital.
By this point I'm in enough pain that I am sweating and I have thrown up twice. The ER gets me into a room in less than hour, which is good because there was lots of panting and cursing not to mention grimacing and moaning. They draw blood and find what they are looking for and then give me an IV.
Correction, the new nurse who has never done this before? He puts an IV in, badly, in my hand. They give me tordol and an nausea med and the pain, thankfully dissipates. I have a CT scan.
I have a 7mm kidney stone that has not yet made it to the bladder. The wonderful pain meds which cleared the pain will be waring off in about an hour. I have taken ibuprofen and percocet is on its way. But I am afraid I'm in for a night of way more pain.
They didn't want to admit me yet, but if it's too unmanageable or if the infection I am brewing also worsens, then back I go. All in all, the ER people were awesome even if the ER itself, under renovation, sucks. I got there at 4:00 and was out by 7:30, having received a full bag of fluids, pain meds, and a script.
What this means is that in the past 30 days, 3 of the 4 members of my family have had IVs at 3 different hospitals and an urgent care. WTF?
Oh Kat, that is a horrible no good thing. I hope the pain isn't too bad tonight, somehow.
best of luck kat
and unsurprisingly msbelle is the msbelliest
It is pretty horrible no good AND I'm going to have reschedule my fucking mammogram!
Not good stats! Don't fourpeat! The kid next to me, last visit, with the meet cute, had kidney stones and some morphine he was exceedingly happy with. I hope the transition to percocet isn't bad for you.
And if they give you IV compazine, steal it for me. I can make it worth your while...
It wasn't compazine. Not sure what it was. But it worked.
They also gave me a prostrate drug. Um. Thanks?
I hope you don't end up with a med gap and the stone is gone, gone, gone soon, Kat. That sounds awful.
That means you can't sue, it doesn't mean you can't complain.
Exactly. Infections near your brain mean you get to squeak some wheel.
I feel they could have said something more than "we know your time is valuable and you are frustrated". No, let's take a minute--my health is vital and I am unwell and in pain. It's amazing how much difference not-a-form-letter would make.
Time Warner could have saved me officially ranting and the $10 off my monthly bill for a year if they'd just treated me like a valid human. They were inr the wrong and if they'd just been nice, I would have dealt. But they were assy and so I fought. Also I was right. That helped.
I want to see inside a Genesis. I want to know what Hyundai does when they play in that area.
Oddly, I had one as a rental for about a week in February and really liked it. I can't tell you what build but I was surprisingly impressed. The airport rental line was crazy and I lost three cars before e agent grabbed that one. I was just desperate at the time but ended up being glad that It was the car I got.
7 mm?? That's horrific! Maybe they can lithotripsy the thing if necessary.
