That would be exciting, JZ!
I roasted the shit out of these potatoes and they are fucking fantastic and I have prosecco and it is Friday.
The end.

We stopped at Target on the way out of town to get birthday present for tomorrow's party. The plan was BK after here for dinner, then the drive with music and angry birds if mac wants to play. BUT he has flipped out in Target about a toy he wants and so now I am sitting in the parking lot waiting as he pouts in front of the store.
You know I don't think there is a boss on earth who if you to her and say "I don't have enough to do to fill my day" will fail to find you some extra work.
Oh, dear, Mac.
We had the tour. It went... okay. My mother was convinced when I picked her up this AM that it was a nursing home and I was lying to her and this was all a big scam to abandon her lock in a room smelling of urine and ammonia.
But I got her there, repeating over and over that it wasn't a nursing home, we were just going for a visit and to have lunch, and and and and.
Lunch was fine but she hated the special she ordered (vegetable stuff sole with wild rice and steamed chard) and ordered a burger instead (which was excellent, thank fuck). And we had the tour and she thought the apartment was too small and didn't like the beauty salon (I fear because the woman there wasn't white and I was afraid to ask). Quizzed the tour guide mercilessly.
Still is convinced "We're not ready for that yet," (she's 81!). When I got them home she wanted to know if I would buy a two-family house with them and live with them instead. I said no.
Dad would move tomorrow if he could. Mom's ... god only knows. I suspect the only solution is to get her to agree once, and then run with it.
::tears hair::
::goes off for dinner and wine with a friend::
Or....just run with it. It sounds great!
maaaaac. At least he's just sitting and pouting and not running?
Dad agrees and your mom's vote frankly is a bit impaired right now. I say run with it.
What Burrell said
Kudos to Hawaii's Hoohiki, or their process to get documents from their courts. I sent an email asking what form to use to request adoption records, and within a couple of hours I had the PDF I needed. I don't want to even think what would be required in the non-Internet age.
I know there will be tsuris regardless, so I'd operate like they said. Even if you get a conditional yes, it sounds like she'll renege. So just move forward, loins girded.
City smells faintly of old farts and wet dog. Which I suspect is just exhaust due to inversion. No breeze, humidity rising. It gets like this sometimes. Unfortunately, I am airing out the house.
The air quality here is terrible due to wildfires nearby. I've had a migraine since Tuesday, and husband's got a cold that won't clear up. We're both blaming the smoke.
