Thanks again for Birthday Wishes!
FTR, I think UK Coupling was hysterical. Ever since I have giggled every time I've heard the word "gusset."
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Just in time -- Happy Birthday, Sue! I'm glad you had a relaxing day. All good wishes for the coming year.
Debet, I watched the first episode of the new season and deleted the season pass. Not because it's terrible, but it's not compelling enough to stay in my crowded TV watching schedule. I'm not sure what's different this year, but everyone/thing/(I'm not sure what I mean) kind of seems more petty somehow.
I didn't find UK Coupling as funny as I had been led to believe it would be, but it was really built up to me and I was probably in a not-receptive-to-relationship-comedy mood when I watched it, looking back.
Many happy returns, Sue!
I'm watching the second episode and it's less painful. Since I'm on Hulu, scheduling is less of an issue.
By scheduling I mean Too Much TV, Not Enough Time so I am ruthlessly culling returning shows (new shows get a longer grace period to prove themselves).
I returned the rental and cabbed it to the service centre and made it a block away before determining the car wasn't fit to drive (this is not what I took it in for--I had a starter problem--this is the transmission...) and now I'm in a panic for two reasons--a mystery new issue which wasn't there when I sent the car in, and the fucking loaner, which I'm convinced is going to be set on fire and then stolen.
It's so fucking fancy I didn't even know how to start the engine.
FUCK.
It's so fucking fancy I didn't even know how to start the engine.
Push the button!
What kind of fancy car is it?! Does it talk?
Say, "Engage."
(I'm sorry for all the car stress, including new issue; it sucks.)
I pushed the button! I knew that bit!
But you have to press the brake at the same time, and I didn't know that bit. How are you supposed to know that bit???
It's a tricked out late model 328i. There's no cigarette lighter, there's an AUX input and a USB port, as is right and civilised. I still didn't work out how to play the music on my phone before I got home. But I will charge the iPod for the drive to work tomorrow.
(I don't want to drive to work tomorrow)
