Thanks for all the Birthday greetings!
I have the day off, but very low-key plans. I had breakfast w. a friend, then popped into my hair place to make an appt and they could take me right then! So I got a much needed haircut. Then I wandered into some book/vintage shops until it started to rain. I may convince a friend to meet me after work for a drink.
Sounds like an ideal day off/birthday, Sue.
Scrappy, Consuela, I will check both places out. Thanks!
And Sue, happy birthday!!
Ooh, that sounds nice, Sue.
I am so excited to have no plans on Saturday, I don't even know.
I was feeling super pouty about my whole birthday/lack of plans thing yesterday, but I am having a really lovely day. My problem is I always want to celebrate my birthday, but I hate making myself the center of attention.
A day off relaxing sounds like bliss. Reminds me I need to email other parents about the upcoming no-school day.
Ha, Sue, that's me too! But good. I'm glad you're having a nice day.
I had a good, but unproductive morning, so now I have to scurry around like a chicken to get stuff done this afternoon. But I can do it! I'm doing it! I'm totally going, right now.
Yeah, who was wanting an onerous task day tomorrow? 'Cause I'll need one then, too.
My sister does not (clearly) have one hesitation about drawing birthday focus. She was told firmly that the 14th and 16th don't count. The rule for the 15th was that any time you felt like cussing her out, just tell her "Happy birthday" and smile. She was wished many many times, especially by the one cousin (mama bear friend tried to tell everyone to be nice to her..."Fuck that. I'm not being nice to her. I'm never fucking nice to her and I'm not fucking starting now. Fuck off." And, in fact, said cousin complimented my sister's driving and it was the closest to an argument that I saw happen all weekend "T, don't." "M, I'm serious--you're good." "Seriously, stop it." "You're good." "Stop." (whispers) "Told you I couldn't be nice...") but by the 16th people were gleefully cussing her out once again, and she was appropriately pouty.
ita, I thought Coupling UK was pretty funny.
