Ten years! I am old. I was young when I started here!
The cat story is amazing.
I know I have asked before, but does anyone have podcast recs to listen to (without headphones) at work. I have my own office, but they can't have too many swear words. I listed to This American Life, Pop Culture Happy Hour, Riki Lindhome's Making it on the Nerdist, and Fresh Air with Terri Gross. I also can't stand Diane Rehm's voice.
Riki's podcast is starting to have too many swear words!
Talk of the Nation and Planet Money?
Also: Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
I think all of my favorite podcasts are NSFW. Even including StoryCorps, because that makes me cry on the regular, which is not safe for work in a different way. I sort of hate-listen to the Slate Culture Gabfest, which usually has a couple of swears.
It's not possible that we've been HERE for ten years when I still think of this as our new board.
SRSLY.
I've been here since Sara was a few months old and she'll be nine in November. And ... I still think of myself as a newbie.
Seriously, Kansas? Kansas panel delays ballot decision on Obama
It just embarrassing though, admittedly, Kansas voters are completely irrelevant to the presidential election.
Sophia,
NPR has a story podcast that you might like. On The Media is pretty good, but I want to throw crap at it once a month. Radiolab is good, but does not come out often enough.
KCRW "The Business" - Entertainment related.
I sort of hate-listen to the Slate Culture Gabfest
OMG. Me too. Though I haven't listened to it in about a month. Stephen Metcalf in particular is such an ass.
Thanks! I have listed to all the Radiolab already, but the others sound good. I used to listen to Wait Wait, and I am not sure why I stopped and forgot about it!
I...wow. Kansas WTF.
I know. And it's so pointless, I mean, ...spoiler warning... , Romney is going to win Kansas. If the GOP ran an actual elephant it would win Kansas.
