Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Old Boys' Clubs are a real self-perpetuating force

But Leo's not old. And my surprise was that he was Old ten years ago.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The old boys bring up the new boys. Someone has to agree that he has that kind of juice, and odds are it's a dude.

Not even fucking 30, and Titanic notwithstanding, they should not be letting him get away with that shit on a project where the team has already been assembled--script's through at least one iteration, and there's already a director associated.

If he was coming into an empty room, maybe. Or if I got the impression that it was the director insisting on him...you know, like Scorsese bringing Leo with, after Gangs of New York or something?

But you have Charles Evans trying to produce the movie, hiring Spacey to direct, getting DiCaprio to star, and the DiCaprio says he won't come without Mann, so Spacey's out...and then Evans finds himself out in the cold himself, because hiring DiCaprio put staffing events in motion that shut him out.

Not even fucking 30.

The thing with Redford shoving Jodie Foster out...yeah, that I am totally unsurprised by.

Then again, I think of Diane Keaton shoving herself all over that stupid film that Colin has a role in. The club is Boys and Broads. Not enough Broads, though, and I'd love to think there are 20-odd year old ones (who aren't singers or teen TV tycoons) making calls.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

they should not be letting him get away with that shit

Have you met Hollywood?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

they should not be letting him get away with that

And most tv shouldn't be reality tv. But apparently that is what enough of the public and advertisers want.

I despair.

I also hate icing my finger. Or anything.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We won our roller derby bout 229-98. This was against the team that beat us in April by 50 points. It felt AWESOME!

Yes, and I thought you had to have more than the tweens sobbing for you to be declared an influence.

What's next? RPattz deciding on his director (well, I can think of he might get to fire) because of his involvement in Twilight?

Like I said--Redford's not a surprise. But Leo outballed Kevin Spacey. I would have thought Spacey had the influence that mattered with such a relatively young Leo.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Holy terrible ceiling, Kate! That sounds like the beginning of an episode of Holmes on Homes. scary, but far less terrifying than if it were water related (I'm assuming it hasn't been raining heavily and there wasn't water dripping from the giant rent in the ceiling). That sounds like incredibly terrible renovation work that the seller should absolutely be fixing (to your satisfaction, at their cost.) Sheesh. Very glad ya'll weren't sleeping underneath it when the ceiling fell in!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Crossing fingers for bad drywall installation -- that's the kind of problem that would show up a couple weeks/months after installation.
