Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Sue, we are here to help. Burrito for lunch. Red shoes. Move to Texas. What else?

I did have a burrito for lunch!

I'm not sure about the moving to Texas part. I was thinking France. Or Ireland. (This is just a subset of what should I do for my midlife crisis.)

Should I have a birthday party? What day should it be on? (Actual birthday or the friday after.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Out for drinks maybe dinner on actual birthday, party Friday after.

I'm not sure about the moving to Texas part. I was thinking France.

Split the difference, move to Paris, TX.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was just about to get a burrito for lunch. Clearly it's that kind of day.

Sue, I suspect it is a birthday thing. I spent the whole first part of this week having a midlife birthday crisis. It seems to have abated now, and I didn't even buy a motorcycle!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah. I've been having midlife crisis feeling since last winter, and I think I am starting to feel like nothing's changing. I think turning 43 has something to do with it.

And Happy Belated Birthday!

NO, it is too far away from me.

Do you feel like having a party? If you want to see people, but not plan and clean and organize something, have a dinner out.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I want a duck taco for lunch, but Tacocracy doesn't open until 4. Damn them.

Oh, hey! My neighborhood is opening up a kids' literacy/writing center like 826 Valencia/Brooklyn/etc., this weekend! It's called WordPlay. It's not affiliated with the 826 centers, but took their inspiration from them. The storefront is the Urban Legend Institute. (Since 826 Valencia is the pirate supply store, and you can get mopped there, I asked Tim what he thought might happen to shoppers at the Urban Legend Institute. "Get mauled by Sasquatch" was his answer.)

My neighborhood kicks SO MUCH ASS, y'all. Duck tacos and the Urban Legend Institute.

I need to look into volunteering there. Uh, the kids' writing center, not the taco place. Although I'd be okay with that, too.
