"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

is the True Lime as fun as the True Lemon

I like it better, but I like limes better. It bears the same relation to limes as True Lemon does to lemons.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Lots of things if done wrong/more will kill you. The key is not to do them that way.

True.

You're not actually trading a bit of death for beauty.

I didn't think of it that way, but that's an excellent line!

What is the "worth" that it doesn't have that's related to it being botulism toxin?

I don't understand the question.

You haven't said you're bothered by facial immobility--that's the part I don't like

Having never done it, I'm not sure how much I would be bothered by partial facial immobility. I suspect, a lot. My fear is that it would be permanent, and I think that fear would be persistent until it wore off.

The tylenol in my cupboard is a bigger threat to my health.

Ah, but that poison is in my control. I know how much is deadly, I know how much I myself can take (the recommended amount makes me woozy), and I am in control of those pills. Nobody else is shoving them in my mouth. I don't have to be concerned about the skill and knowledge level of the person giving me the drug/poison.

This is what the NY Times alert I just got said:

The following is the full text of President Bill Obama’s prepared remarks for his speech on Thursday from the Democratic National Convention.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The tylenol in my cupboard is a bigger threat to my health.

Well Tylenol is pretty evil occasionally. It's probably the scariest thing that is randomly in my medicine cabinet. Not least of all because it's OTC and most people don't know it can be dangerous. Actually, it's probably the scariest thing without any qualifiers at all.

Our drug laws are occasionally baffling.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You said that botox isn't worth it--that implies some sort of a trade, right? What are you giving up, in exchange for the effects of botox? I'm not getting sick, I'm not shortening my life, I'm not increasing my risk of dying or getting ill that day by any significant amount.

I'd consider crossing the street to be a bigger risk to my physical wellbeing than putting myself in the hands of a medical professional to administer the treatment. And I never think "is it worth crossing the street to get that bagel?" Well, not in an "I might die today" way. In a "fuck off I'm tired" way probably, yeah.

I pay them money each month, I should totally be getting that alert. No one told me there would be wistfully funny things with the NYT...

Hence my choice of tylenol for that sentence.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, I left that hyphen in for you! You're welcome.

What, "relatively-minor"? Oh, I saw it, missy.

It was under my Nuclear Power Alert. I have no idea why the Nuclear Power Alert was less than alert.

My sister just tossed 2 AD quotes at me in response to the Poehler/Arnett split, and I only caught one. Sheeit. I might have to watch the whole damned thing again before I go home.

I haven't seen True Lime in any of my normal stores. I'll check out Bristol Farms and Gelson's, and if neither of them have it, I'll order online. I'm curious.

True Lemon and Sodastream are perfect for each other--cuts down on my Izze craving more than the diluted fizzy fruit juice, for some reason. And since that's going away...I have one can of the good juice left, and I don't feel tempted to mix it up. This and the rooibos mixes iced have me pretty clammishly happy for the moment.
