Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

I wonder if I sent Owen lots of gummy worms now, he might hire me as he rises to world domination.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I think with non-fiction, he really shines--he loves facts and can communicate them very effectively.

I concur. Non-fic rules!

I think the thing went well, unsure if I'm the right fit, but enjoyed the interview and left feeling pretty good about it.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yay, Allyson. I assume there was no discussion of rock-bonding?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Allyson, that's good to hear.

Me, I'm just exhausted about job issues. I still don't know when my position is going to be announced, and the guy who's supposed to be in charge of the hiring process is leaving my division next month. If it doesn't happen before then, I have no idea when or if it'll happen at all.

... of course, it's possible I'll end up with someone more capable than the current guy. But I'm not holding my breath.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

North Korea issues unusually specific threat

North Korea's military vowed a new and unusually specific threat to its neighbors, saying it would reduce South Korea "to ashes" in less than four minutes.

...

The North Korean military threatened to "reduce all the rat-like groups and the bases for provocations to ashes in three or four minutes, (or) in much shorter time, by unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style."

Well OK then.

From now on everything I do will be by the unprecedented peculiar means and methods of my own style.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend.

I spoke with the recruiter for the position that sounds awesome. Well, the actual work sounds awesome, and she confirmed they'd be able to pay me more, but they have weird complex medical insurance that's expensive (apparently the actual insurance has a $5K deductible, but they have this OTHER insurance that covers that? Or something?) AND I'd be going back to the "six less vacation days than I'm used to" thing (even though it's a different company). I'm not sure I'm OK with that. Except the project I've been put on at my newcurrent company is MAKING ME CRAZY. But then again, most projects would, at the beginning...(WHY, why do companies keep advertising for Seattle CRAs when really they want someone in SF or LA?)
