The Reader's Digest book is very useful. I am also a big proponent of asking old dudes at hardware stores.

Hah. Sometimes outsiders don't believe...I'm pretty sure anyone working at a regional theatre can chat with any other employee of a different regional theatre anywhere in the country an have at least one shared acquaintance.
