I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

Jesse, there are floor mats that big that might work - these are LL Bean and pricy [link] , but BloodBath and Beyond has similar stuff for a lot less.

I use a cheap rug, because my cats don't miss the box, but they throw litter around all over the place, and I have to sweep less if I put a rug by the boxes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Jesse, I would try talking Staples down. Since McPhee started NO CAT PEE ON THE FLOOR!!! I finally got them using the new litter box, but she has scrubbed the floor within an inch of its life.

Thrive to spite them

I had a problem with Penny and Dean flinging cat litter every where and occasionally missing and then I got 2 of these giant litter boxes [link]

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I've had great success with this top-entry style litter box [link]

There's zero possibility of missing, and for the most part, they walk on the lid, which helps knock off extra litter, so I just have to do a quick sweep with the dust pan every now and then.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Okay, now this guy is pissing me way the fuck off, to the point where I've just about run out of words beyond FEMINIST HULK SMASH. If someone else wants to go in and eviscerate him, it would be a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

I waded in, but I doubt I'll keep my toes in for long. I don't think anything will get through to that guy. You and ita are both rock stars in that whole discussion.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, that's interesting! Maybe I should take the voyage to the shopping center that has Home Depot, BB&B, AND Target. And I just realized that it's more convenient than I thought, because I don't actually have to go to my old neighborhood to get there. That may just be a plan.

Jesse, I would try talking Staples down.

I probably could have brought it to a manager, but wasn't in the mood. The guy who looked it up for me thought it was WTF-y as well, but couldn't do anything about.

Oh, Theo, I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm happy it was so easy for her, and for the rest of you. It's what I would want for my own mother.

JZ, where is this Buffy article y'all are talking about?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Finally! Done working! I had to offer myself up as collateral to prevent me calling all the IT directors for a second time today--I'm on point in case the server which has gone down twice in 2 years goes down next week. But at least I know what the fix is--and the thing my boss is paranoid about is going to be standard operating procedure in a month.

How can it be such a risk now, if it's going to be normal in 30 days?
