Happy Birthday, meara and Jen!
You know what makes me happy? Three roller derby people from nearby cities that I know and love are posting about Joss Whedon on Facebook and how much they love his work. I shouldn't be surprised because there is a ref in Madison who's skater name is The Gorram Reaver.
Nora posted on FB. She has power but no cable/internet.
Nora just posted on FB she has power but no Internet.
HI! Still have power and internet. Just got up. Weather radio alarms woke me up several times in the night. No street flooding yet (woo!) but the wind is totally fucking bananas. Something I am not posting publicly on fb - have a dripping leak by one of my chimneys. Not much I can do about it except move stuff. Of course it's just a few feet from my modem/router/printer set up, dammit.
Ziplocs, trashbags and duct tape.
ACK! My house is open to you all!
Thinking of my NOLAistas!
I second the report of lack of flooding and bananas-ness of the wind.
Smonster, do you still have cable/internet?
sara speaks with authority on this issue.
glad to see you posting smonster, was worried for you.
Y'all, I have come out the other side of my McPhee preparedness panic. DUDE! someone is going to be at my house doing stuff today! stuff that will make my life easier and give me more free time. Thast gust of wind you just felt was part of the weight fleeing my shoulders. The switch flipped in my badly wired brain and I even managed to be more productive myself this morning (washed dishes, packed lunch, and prepared mac toaster waffles), usually nothing is accomplished in the morning.
now if I can just get through the day - it is annoying co-worker's bday (she also needs a board name).
nora! everything ok with you all?
Dana and DJ's families ok?
Listening to NPR report from the parishes south of NOLA was worrisome with water already over levees and at least 12 more hours of rain expected.
