I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

I wish I could stay here in Hawaii! But I am on a flight out tonight. Because I needed to be home in time for my flight Wednesday, see...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

hope it's a whole lot of nothing, New Orleans folks!

Well, it's definitely going to be a whole lot of rain. I choose to believe this will be a good test for the new levee system and it will come through beautifully.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

smonster, OK.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'm beginning to suspect it will be. (A whole lot of nothing, that is.) The real issue is that it's pretty much inevitable that the power will go out, so that will be less fun, but what can you do.

Just stuck some water bottles in the fridge and freezer, thanks for the reminder, smonster. Gonna make red beans tomorrow I think. I'm hoping power will hang on throughout the daytime at least...

Things I have done today that I've never done before: board up windows, fill up freezers bags of water for emergency ice blocks... hmm, I thought there was more, but I guess I'm slightly seasoned by New England weather.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Heh, I wish I was as optimistic as you when it comes to our fine levee repairing folks in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. But I am hoping to be proven unnecessarily cynical!

I love it when I'm proven unnecessarily cynical!

Oh my, yes. Booze and a whole lot of beer. Will help with power outages related discomfort.

Hey! The levees work just fine if you're not blowing up the sections in the poor part of town to save the rich part of town!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

You haven't watched The Big Uneasy, have you? Yeah.

Tub is full of water. Now to remember to keep bathroom door shut so fool cats don't drown selves. My credit union is going to be closed tomorrow, but the ATMs will work as long as there's power. Transferred $$ to checking just in case.

Should I fill up freezer bags? Huh. I guess I'll do a few, though my freezer is mostly full of water bottles. And then, for really realz, bed.
