So, that super-conservative new archbishop for San Francisco:
The Roman Catholic archbishop-elect of San Francisco was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence, San Diego police said Monday.
The Rev. Salvatore Cordileone, a vigorous supporter of California’s same-sex marriage ban, was taken into custody after being stopped early Saturday at a checkpoint near the San Diego State University campus, said Detective Gary Hassen, a police spokesman. He declined to comment on whether Cordileone took a sobriety test.
Prince of a man, clearly.
Timelies all!
Well, my work week's half over. (We leave Wed. morning for Chicago)
We are staying in New Orleans for the storm... should be interesting.
Stay Safe, Nora, and Smonster too.
So, Grace and I are in the NYT tomorrow, but on the website today: [link] I really need a hair cut.
Hey, flea, I think you're good with your mention, then.
And you guys look cute, Kat.
I want a neighbourhood search engine. I want to be able to put in an address, and the application tells me "Oh, that's Barbican."
Eee, scared for training session!
First day of classes went pretty well, except that I've got way too many students. In one of the classes, people have to stand in the back of the room because there aren't enough places to sit. I'm going to have to see if I can work something out. I thought it might get better after a few students dropped (there are always a few drops in the first few days, when students realize that they're not really prepared for the class), but it looks like there's a waiting list, because as soon as a student drops, another one gets added. Also, this classroom is in a building that's behind some construction, and you've got to walk an extra two blocks or so to get there, because the only entrance that's not blocked is one that's only accessible from off-campus.
Ugh, someone please remind me, because I can't brain right now: other than drinking lots of water (I've added lime juice for electrolytes), what will help with a headache brought on by lots of crying?
