Uh, yeah? But I'm the lady in the hood who yells at people and makes kids clean up after their mayhem. So I'm definitely the bitchy neighborlady with few qualms.

Oh sigh. Our Y had to turn off the gas, which means no hot water, which changes my plans for tomorrow. Today, I left the house only twice and I still walked 12,000 steps because today I prep cooked ALL THE THINGS which included prepping over 20 lbs of chicken, 4 lbs of pork, 4 lbs of beef into about 17 meals and then freezing them.
I am tired. But I have to grade.
Your current Y the one we went to up to? My Y will open the pool as long as it is over 65 (lowest it has been is 70, and WHOA) and god knows after tournaments where they let the teams use the locker rooms, there is NO hot water left. But that's different than infrastructure stuff. I do wish I'd dithered less today and done more. But I need plans, and all of them got derailed. And I'm still itchy.
Ah well, tomorrow is another day. Without storms, I hope.
I took a nap today, so I'm shot for tonight, but I really really couldn't keep my eyes open. That's the first nap I've taken in forever.
Oops.
You guys have made me crave aubergines (and also made me google to see if I could find why one name for them came to mean purple and one implied white: [link] -- weird) and I swear I'm not into them much. I think it traces back to the lasagne variation my mother used to make every now and again--all to that. I don't recall her having served them any other way.
I've long held the belief that eggplant (and tomatoes and bell peppers) taste nasty to me because they have a little of that nightshade alkaloid in 'em.
Hm. Tomatoes taste like aluminium to me (I've always figured that was a defense mechanism since I am actually allergic.) and I'm not a fan of bell peppers but I do like eggplant (mmmm baba ganoush. I'm afraid your theory does not hold true for me.
My parents just informed me that my dad spent Thursday and much of Friday in the hospital. This is not timely notification, folks. I guess he got up too quickly Thurs morning and passed out, splitting his lip open on a counter on the way down. The hospital admitted him because of a history of A-fib and then he had an A-fib episode during the night. Now he's mostly annoyed that he has a bunch of doctor appointments lined up and can't drive until one of the docs clears him for that.
Oh god, Emmett is going into another growth spurt.
He's cheerfully insanely aggressive and eating eating EATING!!
Here's what he ate today:
Breakfast:
Big bowl of cereal. ("I'm still hungry!")
Two scrambled eggs. ("I'm still hungry!")
Another bowl of cereal. ("I'm still hungry!")
Late lunch (after baseball practice):
Cheeseburger ("I'm still hungry!")
Large smoothie ("I'm still hungry!")
Quesadilla ("I'm still hungry!")
Two coconut strawberry pancakes with butter and syrup ("Okay I'm full.")
An hour later..."I'm hungry!"
Another smoothie.
That's gotta be what? 8,000 calories?
He's going to be six foot fucking two at this rate.
Heh -- my little cousin (15) is already 6'2". I can't even imagine.
How old and how tall is he now, Hec?
My 12 yr old nephew reached 6' this summer. I took a picture of a sign in a parking garage (Height Restriction 7'7") to send to him.
He's 14?
I cannot afford teenagers with all their growing. It is ridiculous.
That sounds amazing, Kat, what all did you make?
I froze my chicken stock. It came out really well. I want to do the fish stock tomorrow, but the house probably shouldn't stink of fish when the bank inspector people come over.
I didn't finish the office today, but I got it down to a point where if the lady called to say she was on her way over, I could shove everything left into the remaining empty bins. I am somewhat dubious of the amount of work it will take to go through everything properly, but if I were able to do it, I could start the school year clean.
