It's also Franny's birthday today. She's very excited to be 9 and kept flashing 9 fingers at me while she was on the bus. And for the first time I'll be bringing a treat to her class for her birthday; it's always fallen in summer until now. She asked for butterscotch chip and coconut cookies so I had to improvise the recipe. If it's good, I'll share it.
