Ok- advil finally kicking in! I will try to be more coherent than above.
Natter 70: Hookers and Blow

I'm on a chat right now with Citibank and this woman is not filling me with confidence that she knows anything at all about banking.
First she tells me I haven't been charged any monthly fees (wrong), now she's telling me that the savings account I've had for 12 years isn't linked to the checking account I opened on the same day.
I think I'm going to change banks. This is bullshit.
Ok, after 20 minutes of going through the customer service script, I have FINALLY converted this account back to the no-fee kind I used to have. (For some reason - ok, for a really obvious reason - when Citibank rejiggered their account types, I went from a no-fee account to a fee-unless-you-have-$15,000-all-the-time account.)
It's just ...odd to wake up to a piece on someone who you knew growing up: [link] They made the first 3.5 cast mirror for my dad's observatory in 1988. I made LOT of trips to his mirror lab.
I can't believe I have a 7AM meeting today. Solid through 9:30, to boot.
Don't want this reality.
aurelia, I love you. My family used to do word games like that on every summer car trip ever; reading about Nancy Yancey just gave me such a visceral wave of... not just nostalgia, but SUMMER, and the car bouncing over crummy road and the dog sticking her nose in the air vent and Lake Tahoe off in the distance. It was like deeply concentrated 99% pure distilled essence of summer in one quick moment. I seriously think I'm going to be summer-giddy all day. Thank you for that, so much!
That's really awesome, sarameg. That guy sounds amazing. Crazy, but amazing. That's the kind of science I wish we were really putting our dollars behind.
Did you guys see these morning-after texts between Superman and Wonder Woman? [link] Hilarious.

Sarameg, did Richard Preston include him in First Light? My memory fails.
It fails a lot. Like when I was supposed to remember to take my keys with me this morning. And thus not get locked out of the house.
Better now, but only due to DH intervention. Thx, my Brain.
Someone put that on my FB timeline, Jesse. Facebook. I don't use Facebook. I misguidedly apply the wrong security to pictures of Colin on Facebook every few months. It's not the same thing.
