I am left sputtering for words from Akin's latest comments. Do you think it is possible he has gotten all of his knowledge of women, rape, and reproductive issues from soap operas?

I'm searching for an explanation that is more satisfactory than "he's is a giant asshole." But perhaps that will have to suffice.

I guess what's baffling to me is that news outlets everywhere aren't just saying, "This is WRONG. This guy is dangerously ignorant." Maybe that's not a news outlet's job, but they certainly give opinions on everything else these days.
