FEW FANDOMS ARE PREDOMINANTLY QUEER
Oh, absolutely. But some of the TumblrGirls have a very limited sense of the larger fandom ecosystem.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

sarameg,
I was listening to NPR while driving to lunch and I heard the opening segment and after that, I clicked off the radio. I was just not in the mood to be crying openly in a rental car in a Mexican food parking lot.
I'll save that for the bathroom at home, thank you.
with visine!
h/t to ita.

That is a very special and rare mood, it must be said.

ha! Man. There has to be a song writting about this.

A country song, no doubt. "The music of pain," - Xander Harris.
Looking at that gets me so flummoxed. I don't know where to start what to give. So I've decided to choose simple close to home known quantilites, like to give to Kat or K's Donorschoose while I think about the larger picture. It gets me calm. I've taken the initial (distracting) guilt response of the table, and can consider more clearly.
So far so good.
My sister sent me an email that was going around her line of work (anthropology, the Third World) rejecting the BBC's recently stated position (in the sense that the whole station has one opinion, which....not) that we're seeing the results of a particular pressure cooker and breeding programme called "Slavery" and this is what it looks like on this end.
No, said this article. It's because of the political reform. It's that the Caribbean is a great place to be poor and black these days, so, you know, some of run really fast.
It was a very annoying article, and deserves being read more than it deserves being summed up by an irritated reader. It's here: [link]
For the life of me, I can't tell the age or relative experience of the person that says not cheering to make a may-be-bi character bi is bi-erasure instead of exhorting attention for the gay character which isn't gay-erasure.
But I'm sure gays got everything now, what would they do with exposure?
This is a fandom in which the het ships don't really get played down, but I am one of maybe two people I've seen who ship the canon gay guy with anyone.
eta: My mother friended me on FB. I guess it was inevitable. Even though I'm still not using it, I had to reply to that, and it gave me somewhere safe to post that picture. I'd better play that next move in Scrabble now that Brian knows I'm alive.
Somebody please explain "[drops mic]" to me? I'm seeing it all over the place, and I don't know what it means.
It really scares me sometimes when they give me a dose of the meds and I don't feel anything. No taste, no cessation of pain (or any distinguishable impact), not the feeling I have to pee I get with benadryl, no fuzziness at all. My first feeling is that they shorted my dose, but last time I thought that happened, nope.
I can't not react to 50 of benadryl and 4 of dilaudid. They will NEVER increase that dose (and with good reason--I don't honestly want them to). I would prefer to discover they're shorting me, and have that argument.
::sigh:: For appearance's sake I should wait another thirty before I even ask about the strength of the last. Just simpler.
I wish they all followed standard procedure and told me how much as well as what, But it's probably the standard. Why tell me every time?
Stupid body.
Where are you seeing that, Zen? I fear I am not travelling in the hip circles.
Oh, hey--it's the Prez. That's how cool I'm not: [link]
