Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know nothing about design, but feel like text that is white outlined in black or vice versa would be readable on anything, but also that it probably would be easier to have the picture and then the text under. Or over.

It's really sad how little I know about design -- I was trying to put two logos on something at work, and I could tell it was terrible, but had no idea how to fix it! And the answer was embarassingly simple, when someone else looked at it.

Two things I love: The bookstore which will buy my old books and let me get more books. They bought five or six from me, and I gave them another dollar and left with three books. This is perfect, since my main reason to sell books is lack of space. I was surprised they wouldn't take the one I bought last week, but wonder if they'll take it in six months. Hilariously (but not actually surprisingly), they wouldn't take the one by William Weld, because you know everyone bought that as sort of a gag gift.

Also I love Trader Joe's! My new local one is about a mile away, and bigger than any one I've ever gone to! And sells wine. I bought slightly more than was comfortable to carry home, but won't do that again. I was definitely in restock mode.

Next I'm going to clean a lot of lettuce and put it in tuppers for salads. I hate making salad so much (especially with dirty CSA lettuce) that I never do it, but if I make up several now, I will eat them this week for dinner.

And my apartment is Very Close to being put together. Phew!

Because books.

You and Liese inspired me to tackle the linen closet, which is now ... piled over my bedroom. Help.

Coding and Sleeping

I know this has surely been noted before, but there I am at CNN's web site and I see Jilli in one of the little pictures of stories on the side. Sure enough, there she is at the top of an article. Cool.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Don't read the comments! Or so I hear.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The comments say I obviously wasn't hugged enough as a child. And that I look like either the lovechild of Slash and Mary Poppins, or that I'm in My Chemical Romance. So, y'know, I find the comments hilarious. (Also, I want to know when Gerard Way is arriving at my door.)

When he does, can you tell him to write more fucking Umbrella Academy please? Thanks.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It has been linked here, Gud, but that's very cool that you spotted it in the wild, so to speak!

Because that will be the first thing that crosses my mind if Gerard Way appears on my doorstep. Sure.

(Tho' I want more of that comic, too.)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Things I learned this week:

Don't rush to get to the weekly production meeting. No one will walk in the door before the stated start time and the actual start time will probably be 10 minutes later.

I know someone who worked with James Dean.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just spent the last seventeen hours searching for this one picture...and now I don't know if it's the one I want to use. I will be back in about half an hour with questions...all the other shirts are done, I think, except mine and hers. Though I might randomly change the picture for the ex's, since he won't speak up for himself. That shirt will be entirely for my amusement.

That's what you get for boning my little sister.
