Sue, also known as Canada?
My end of Canada seems to be particularly slow.
Good luck with your pain specialist, ita.
Consuela, I tried to make an onerous phone call today but got voicemail. And it wasn't a voice message I felt like leaving. I will try again tomorrow, from work.
That's good news about your mom, JenP. I've been thinking about you and her.
I was able to see my great aunt who fell last week in the hospital yesterday, with my brothers, so that was good. She didn't look too bad but they really won't know what they are going to do next until the swelling goes down, probably a week from now. The worst thing is that she's seeing double now. I really hope they can fix that or it goes away.
I'm glad you get to see the pain specialist, ita.
Thanks. 8:15 tomorrow morning. I don't know what he can do, but please god, can he do something?
After the presentation I made this afternoon, my boss called to see if I was alright, because I "sounded awful" and he'd heard I'd come in last week and "looked awful", and he wanted to know if I was okay. Uh, thanks?
Which is why I'm not answering the phone when my family calls, and I'm certainly not video conferencing with them, because I just don't want to deal with them dealing with this. It's bad enough when it's just me.
Seat Assignment: Lavatory Self-Portraits in the Flemish Style:
While in the lavatory on a domestic flight in March 2010, I spontaneously put a tissue paper toilet cover seat cover over my head and took a picture in the mirror. The image evoked 15th-century Flemish portraiture. I decided to add more images made in this mode and planned to take advantage of a long-haul flight from San Francisco to Auckland, guessing that there were likely to be long periods of time when no one was using the lavatory on the 14-hour flight. I made several forays to the bathroom from my aisle seat, and by the time we landed I had a large group of new photographs entitled Lavatory Self-Portraits in the Flemish Style.
Someone has *way* too much time on their hands.
And a nose perfectly suited to 15th century portraiture.
I do not like ita crying all week. do not like!

Ugh ita, I hate it when I get called out that kinda thing. You want to show me sympathy? Send me home with cupcakes, don't tell me I look awful.
Also Jen, so glad to hear your mom is doing better!
OMG, have youse guise seen the victim blaming show Fatal Encounters on whatever cable show, with all the female victims saying "If only I hadn't [taken whatever innocuous action] ... I wouldn't be dead now."
If some motherfucker hadn't killed you, lady, you wouldn't be dead now. You might have been a bit stupid, but someone else was really criminal, and this show is focussing on *you*?
