Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

I did kind of perversely like the one that called Jilli's wardrobe the kind of completely generic stuff anyone can pick up at Hot Topic.

Oooh, I missed that one! If that were the case, a lot of my babygoths would be happy. Also, that poster has obviously not been in a HT for ages, because they don't really have goth stuff anymore.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

that poster has obviously not been in a HT for ages, because they don't really have goth stuff anymore.

Isn't it mostly "Team Edward" and Invader Zim t-shirts?

(Proving that I, too, haven't been NEAR a Hot Topic in years.)

Neon. The last time I was in one (looking for tights), it was a lot of neon. Nary a skull-decorated goody to be seen.

Because books.

I'm not even sure I have zones of excellence to maximize.

Oh, that was me. There's also video!

Oh my good god. It's too much!

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

They should spin one off and call it "Goth Topic." Have a Halloween launch party with sugar skulls...witches on the bags, I'd shop there and I'm not really Gothic.

Sox, ask and ye shall receive.

Oh Jessica is my favorite.

Oooh, and I'm a semi-attractive attention whore!

(I swear I'm going to stop reading the comments. I just closed the window.)

I am amazed at how many people can't fathom someone dressing differently just to amuse themselves. I feel kind of sorry for them. Not a lot sorry, because obviously they're angry little trolls with no lives, but there's a mild sort of pity there.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, I read a few pages of those comments, and it seems like all the obnoxious people from all sides zerg rushed the reasonable people right off the article.

I mean, there are people saying only 20 year olds need to dress how they like, or what if someone dressed like Jilli gave you anaesthetics (whuhuh?), and then this:

The boss should not have the right to tell me what to wear. It's none of his business. The Constitution does not end when I go to work.

Yeah, that's precisely what a dress code is...violation of your human rights.

HUMANS.

Hey, I DO win a prize! My co-worker who's wife is working toward opening a bakery sent him in with 3 dozen cupcakes, some of which were specifically GF for meeee!

brillig

what if someone dressed like Jilli gave you anaesthetics (whuhuh?)

Because the clean-cut, well-groomed, averagely-dressed person would never, ever hurt you. Right, Ted Bundy?
