Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, I just got a really terrible pedicure. Too bad, because it was the cheap place around the corner! Will continue to explore.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

On Sunday, what I was hoping was going to be a nice quiet breakfast out was ruined by a screeching toddler, and I made a point of telling his mother that on my way out of the restaurant.

Then I went home and watched my lawn all afternoon, just in case I needed to yell at any kids.

I am a semi-public figure and cannot flip out at someone online.

If I keep repeating this to myself, it will keep me from gritting my teeth, right? Please reassure me of this. Especially since I am going to have to keep an eye on this someone to see if they're just clueless, or really are setting themselves up to copy me.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jilli,

you have legions. Can't we flip out on the person in your stead?

Eek. I'm afraid that mother is going to be me in a year or two.

Only if you're planning on actively encouraging the toddler in his screeching.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Eek. I'm afraid that mother is going to be me in a year or two.

Yeah, I kind of get the feeling Lee's talking less about three seconds of screaming followed by Lee chasing the mom out to the parking lot to scold her than about a whole lot of screaming accompanied by a mom who was determined to sit and have her whole brunch come hell or high water or eardrum-shattering shrieks. That mom, I for one am dead certain you will never be.

Also, yeah Jilli yeah! Sic one of us on 'em! This place is teeming with smart snarky people ready to defend you ably and itching to vent a little spleen. What could possibly go wrong?

There are some people who are sending messages to the tumblr in question, which makes me feel a bit better. But I still want to set someone on fire with my brain.

Actually, does anyone of the Buffista legal hivemind work with IP law at all? I'm trying to figure out if/when I'll need to let my publisher know what's going on.
