The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, poor Pix. I hope it's not bed bugs.

Because books.

Ugh, Pix, that's a drag. I hope it's easily taken care of.

My German copies of Cold Kiss came! It's called Deine Lippen so kalt in German, which seems like a lot of words for "cold kiss," but still, very cool. And very pink, oddly.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm horribly allergic to anything that bites, so I'm covered in itchy, scabby welts. ND doesn't have a mark on him

Not to freak you out, but that was exactly my situation when I had bedbugs. Itchy scabby welts. (Apparently only a tiny fraction of the population is allergic to bedbug bites. Sometimes I hate being such a special snowflake.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Condolences to Liese and lisah.

And sending vibes to Pix, hope it's easily dealt with, whatever it is. Hate bugs.

As for dealing with death, I had a student last year who was a novitiate in a Zen monastery and from what she says, the Zen Buddhists seem to have a good bead on death as simply a part of life and not to be mourned. She spoke of one monk laughing through his final breaths. I've watched a lot of loved ones go, and that seems like a pretty magical way to die.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, my, god.

Why can't people answer the question I asked. "Do we need to X?" "We can X..." Dude, no. Do we need to? Does it solve any problems? Are we at a standstill without it?

"Do we have a subject matter expert in Y? Can you tell me who it is?" "I don't think we need one for what I'm working on." Great, that's really exciting, but it has nothing to do with my actual question, though.

Hah. Only java and P-C will likely get this, but I am being driven crazy by German data managers who FAIL COMPLETELY to get the concept of "resolved with sequelae". They were like "Well, but it resolved! If there's some other issue, you should make a new adverse event! And by the way you can't have a stop date. Or say that one of the criteria is that there's a permanent disability or incapacity". And I"m like "Then what the hell is the POINT of having resolve with sequelae as an option? Do you people need a dictionary?!"

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I think it's more like "Your lips are so cold," but my German isn't very good, Amy.

Deine Lippen so kalt

"Your Lips so Cold." Kind of a nice title, really.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh shit. I forgot I have to stay with my dad tomorrow night. Not sure I can textually express how much I would have wanted a few more nights in my own bed.

Because books.

That's funny. Is there no German word for kiss?
