This is a day. Nothing has gone
wrong
exactly, but nothing's going right either. My coworkers seem determined to screw up my stuff; I stupidly missed a deadline that alas affects someone else more than it does me; tomorrow is my BFF's birthday which I somehow failed to realize so I'm real glad for the one-day shipping option on Amazon but damn; my credit cards have crept back up to the max again; I've gained back 5 pounds of the 15 I lost earlier this year; and my sister's coming to spend the weekend and the house is a mess. The common denominator of all these problems is, of course, that I'm a useless mess lately. (Well, not the first one. That's not me.)
I'm gonna step away from the laptop, grab some lunch and maybe a nap, and try to recelibrate my brain and start over from Go.

Instead, I told my coworker I wanted to write a paragraph about a thing she's working on, and she handed me a three-page draft summary AND A BOOK FOR REFERENCE. Um, OK. The five-minute conversation we just had will actually do me fine.

The result of the men's 200m made me cry. I figure that's not spoilery.
We are starting the budget process here. It involves people from many areas getting figures and the figures being fed into a powerpoint that I have to prepare for 18 different plants. And it seems people change templates, and add slides and screw things up in numbers of ways right up to the last second, including walking into presentations with their own flashdrives of different data.
I would like a form for them to fill out on a web interface that feeds a locked down database that feeds the powerpoint, but that doesn't exist.
Then what I want is a schedule that will show me what I need to do step by step with auto-generated dates that are backed out by a formula when we plug in the presentation dates. That doesn't exist either. I am building one for myself, but since this is my first year doing it, it will be wrong.
