hwæt

Worst migraine I’ve had in years. Thankfully, the pain isn’t that bad, but the freaky lightshow is hella annoying.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Argh, workworld, cooperate with me!

I'm not even supposed to be working right now. I'm supposed to be packing my car to leave for Kansas! All this was supposed to already be dealt with!

Also I'm hungry.

Hm. That might be the key to the not coping right there.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, that sucks, Tom. Migraines are so bizarre. Hope you recover soon.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

sumi, I'm so sorry about Tanuki. Twenty years is a big hole to fill.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh sumi, I'm so sorry. She had a good long run with you, though, and she knew she was loved.

Ack, Tom. I hate the lightshow. I hope it clears up before it intensifies.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm so sorry about your cat, sumi.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A really big reason I don't want to go much higher in the corporate ladder is that I don't want to work much harder than I do now--not all of that is laziness--I worry that I just won't be able to keep that many balls in the air.

But then, sometimes people above me in the org chart ask me questions that I don't know how to answer--not because I don't know the answer, but rather because I thought we all did, and I don't know how to frame it without sounding condescending.

Like "Why will we need a different number of servers if we use a different architecture?" "Because that's what the word different means?" or "Why are we using this architecture?" "Uh, you chose it last week?"

I mean, I get to the point where I assume I don't understand the question, because it can't be that, but...it really is that. It gets hard to sell a decision you didn't make and didn't even agree with at the time, but now seems like your idea, because everyone has forgotten who really chose it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just had ice cream for dinner. There will probably be a part 2, but it might be Goldfish. Because fuck everything.

I will say I have never been so glad to see that my cat did #1 AND #2 today, because I was afraid he wasn't eating or drinking. He did, of course, reject the fancy wet food I just bought.
