I am still mad at myself for discarding (maybe 3 years ago) my collection of video tapes of ATWT and GL. I think I had every episode from about 1986 - 1991-- maybe longer. I could have put them up on youtube!
A lot of them are up on you tube. I threw out a bunch of tapes too, but the picture quality and sound on them were really poor.
For some reason, the alumni of my high school have a face book group to post about people who graduated from that school who have died. A lot of it is remembering people who died while they were in school. Because I come from a small town, there are people who are a good 10 or 15 years older than me who I know as well as people who are younger than I am. Holy moses, it is depressing looking at this long list of kids who died in tractor accidents, football accidents, boating accidents, falling off pick-up trucks, gun accidents and suicides. Not to mention the murder. One thing I can say that is good, is there seemed to be a lot more accidents in the 70's and 80's than now- better safety precautions, less farming and hunting in the community (not that that is necessarily good) less drunk driving.

That's how my uncle died in WWII. Fell off the back of a troop carrier and bonked his head. Kaput.
Uggghhhh. My poor cat puked everywhere today. Granted, my apartment is a nightmare of boxes, so I'm sure he's stressed out in addition to being sick, but now he's hiding in the closet, which is such a recent development, it makes me sad. Poor sick boo!
What was the name of that movie where someone's uncle (I think) dies because a pig fell on him (off a balcony, maybe)?
Uh...which is not to make light of your uncle, just that it made me think of the friend whose uncle died in an airplane crash, while he was driving a bus (Italian air traffic control not so good with small planes???), and that always takes me to the pig movie place.

It's something that the military is aware of, but tends to get glossed over, but massive troop deployment always winds up taking its share of casualties on shit like that. I was surprised to find out that friendly fire accounts for about 20% of battle casualties.

First day at the new job, and I didn't do very much. Not my fault, the IT person didn't get over to the lab to set up my computer.(Same computer I had at the old lab. The summer student and I brought it over.)
