"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh man. Watching the livestream of the Olympics from one of Sue's links.

Okay. First of all... surprised that Iran had a female flag bearer who was not scarved.

I'm also weirded out that the big celebration part had so much pop culture music, like seeing Johnny Rotten singing was just odd. Then they played the BeeGees on the march in after playing Pet Shop Boys and Adele. Odd.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have not heard of a dera-whatever until Jesse's Facebook status this morning.

I am watching Poiret and there is a very young Damien Lewis.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I too am watching channel 5. Which makes me feel like an enormous dork, actually.

Well, I did get a shower. It was blindingly sunny when I got in the shower. Now it's dark again. The second line of storms is apparently headed into Ohio, while, oddly, the first storm is still hammering Clermont County. I would bet $50 my mom is under the pool table RIGHT NOW.

I should think about changing from my bathrobe into yoga pants and shoes, though.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yay, Strix! I would also be happy to come over all chill and meet the stepson if that makes things easier for you.

Liese, that's Tuesday, right? Memfault -- I was in the sun for 3 hours and I am toast. Sure, that sounds fantastic! Let me know the time and such, and my profile addy's good to exchange phone numbers and get you my address or make plans.

YAY BUFFISTA!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"The word was first used in the American Meteorological Journal in 1888 by Gustavus Detlef Hinrichs in a paper describing the phenomenon and based on a significant derecho event that crossed Iowa on 31 July 1877."

Hmph. Are they more common in the midwest? I swear I'd never heard of it until this week.

Yes, derechos are a center-of-the-country thing, traditionally.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Well, that at least makes some sense.

I only heard of them when DC and Baltimore ha that big storm a week or two ago. Never before (and I'm Midwestern!)

Annoyed that something that shouldve been over at 2pm paste until 4, but at least traffic wasn't bad as I feared.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Is two naps in one day excessive?

What if I can blame it on a sinus infection and/or antibiotics?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When you're sick, you get all the naps.
