Did you guys know that Cathy Rigby is still playing Peter Pan? [link] Incredible. That image in the header has to be at least 30 years ago. I'm imagining "I won't grow up" in an Elaine Stritch voice. That's worse than Ted Neely playing Jesus into his mid 60s.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
amyth, I am shaking my tiny fists at T. He better tranq Aldis and fed ex him to you. And then you send him to me. It'll be like the nail polish box, but hot and geeky.
Uh, kinda drunk. I think I fixed all the typos?
Well, fuck, someone remind me not to post any personal opinions on social media, ever. You'd think I'd have learned that lesson long ago.
One of my friends is receiving death threats from a total stranger on social media for posting her opinion that Guns Are Bad and we shouldn't be selling them willy-nilly. Basically the same opinion I've posted elsewhere. Now another of my "friends" is blasting at me for the same thing. I'm about to throw up. I hate this shit. I should know to keep my mouth shut, all it leads to is wrestling with hateful self-righteous nutjobs. Or condescending assholes who think they need to educate me as to the ways of wild wild world.
I have kinda been Nudging John to Colin in Leverage, and he's seen sincerely eager. And Colin's seemed independently interested--I hadn't actually mentioned it to hi,, but it seems like the perfect set visit just fell through.
I have spent the last way too long (because the Ambien kicked in in the middle, trying to find an app that:
- had a comprehensive database of prescription medications
- could track your prescriptions, including from whom (doctor and pharmacy), when they expire, and your specific instructions.
- have a plain view of all this on a list so when a doctor asks "What you on?" you can show him your device (and he scrolls forever
- had a calendar (optional) to track or remind you when to take what
- it also contains many vitamins, especially the ones doctors prescribe
It is intimidating, so no dinosaurs. Your application has no features. Don't make it look like a Wprd template
Ai yai yai, Zen. The fuck is wrong with people?
Some people, however, are awesome: went to the movies with my cousin and she gave me a bunch of boxes and a ride home! Super nice.
Liese, did you explain why Hiro Protagonist should not be called Hiro and I missed it?
No, I didn't, because I did it in my head and it sounded irrational, so I flaked. Sorry. I think I just have a Stephenson prejudice. It's totally acceptable for a Japanese national of whatever ethnicity to have a Japanese name. I just think he didn't think it through that far, and just liked that it was "Hero."
I'm too zonkered to be more coherent about it at the moment.
I had yay Steph & Tim and Family Flea! And delicious Indian food and mocha chip Graeters! It was so good to see Steph & the Boy again, and I was so happy to meet Casper and Dillo, who were utterly charming and fun to be around. And Flea's DH is fascinating, and we have the same northern Ohio accent which cracks me up. Kat probably has it too.
Thanks for coming out, guys.
The show went okay, rough first set, excellent second one. But the bugger was how difficult emotionally the movie filming was. Did not see that coming.
Anyway, sleep now, another show tomorrow.
Oh man. I've been reading a book about the Chinese Communist Party (fascinating read, by the way) and I just discaovered there's an individual in provincial government whose name is Wang Shouting (per Western convention, Shouting Wang). That's really quite excellent.
Since Hiro is pretty much (uh...what is the polite term for weeaboo?) invested in many aspects of Japanese culture-it didn't surprise me that Stephenson started off with events outside his control.
I finally get why the doctors have been fetching me blankets and crackers and stuff recently. New residents. Adorbs.
Unfortunately, my recent C3-C7 flare up has left me getting one more dose than normal, and it seems they may stop that. Now. Which is one day before my next pain management appointment that will hopefully Larry out plans to fix this, but I'm pretty ... never mind. My concern was unwarranted. They're adamant about not giving me four doses, but I'm pretty adamant about not getting four (don't tell anyone, but I think I'd rather be in pain...)
Please go, pain. I am also hydrating. And I swear honey graham crackers have documented analgesic properties. And restorative too.
I kept detailed notes last week, but forgot to this week. I was having too much fun with the nurse. She's really sweet and funny and claims to remember me drooling over Tom Hardy from a previous visit. I'm sceptical about that, and also blame the drugs. We've been talking movies and etiquette and crying and cute guys. And residents.
Man, I'm really heavy handed on the touch technology these days.
Can you believe nice nurse isn't attracted to RDJ? What is that, even? Neither is my sister, and all the boykissing in the world won't sway her.
But she is a Captain America fan, so cool cool cool. The nurse, that is. Must determine my sister's position on that one...
Ugh, Sophia. I hope things are looking brighter this morning. That is very upsetting.
Zen, that sucks. My FB is so heavily filtered now to get rid of so much that just raises my blood pressure.
and they nodded at each other or something,
I had a head nod experience with Coach Thompson in a restaurant in NoVa once. I still think of it as kind of weirdly awesome. I'm sure he has many such exchanges with random students. But this was my exchange.
claims to remember me drooling over Tom Hardy from a previous visit.
I'm not so skeptical. Well, actual drool, yes. Metaphorical drool I could imagine pretty easily.
