I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I just read the news and had to come check in on Suzi and her family. Glad to hear you all stayed safe! What an awful, scary thing to happen.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What is wrong with people??

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Seeing reports the shooter is in custody. 24 years old.

Good lord -- what terrible news to wake up to.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, that's awful.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Glad Suzi and fam weren't there. It sounds terrifying.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Just awful. I'm so, so glad CJ was at a different theater, but just sick that it happened at all. So many people were so giddily excited with utter fannish glee about that very first showing; it just seems especially horrifying that something that should have been just pure communal mid-summer fannish joy should have turned into death and grief and panic.

What the fuck, humans? 24 years old. God damn it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Seriously.

And on a minor note, now, my glass repair just got scheduled between 11 & 1, so, no matinee for me.

I would really like to know who first reblogged that Bikers Against Child Abuse to get the ball rolling -- I have never been involved with something that went viral! It now has 27K notes.

It appears to have been a very planned attack -- waiting until the theatre is dark and the film is showing a scene with gunfire.
